There is one aspect of health that is so commonplace that it is hardly ever consciously noticed - which is precisely why it is so often underestimated: breathing. Of course you know that fresh air is good for you. That hiking in the mountains or by the sea is good for you. But the crucial question is not which air you breathe in - but how you breathe in the first place. And even more specifically: Do you breathe through your nose or through your mouth? This one question - as simple as it sounds - has far-reaching consequences for your entire organism, for your nervous system, your immune system, your sleep, your emotional state and even your self-esteem.

Know your fears and know what makes you feel safe! Why healing is only possible when we feel safe

What actually makes you ill? And what keeps you healthy? These questions sound simple - and if you really look into them, they almost always lead to the same place: the autonomic nervous system. And to two states that decide everything: Fear and safety. In my practice, I meet people every day who work, who persevere, who try many things - and who still don't really recover. Not because the therapy is wrong. But because a crucial step is missing: looking inwards. Getting to know your own fears. Knowing what feels safe to you. Because without this knowledge - and this is not a metaphor, this is neurobiology - the body cannot heal.

You are tired - not just tired as you would be after a long day, but really exhausted. Deeply exhausted. You sleep, but you don't recover. You eat reasonably healthy, but your body feels heavy. Your thoughts seem to be wrapped in absorbent cotton, your mood fluctuates, and sometimes you wonder whether you're just too sensitive - or whether there might be something wrong.the answer is often: yes, there is something wrong. And the name of this "something" is Silent Inflammation.

A glass of water, half a lemon, freshly squeezed - that's all you need. It sounds simple, but it has a lot of biochemical power: lemon water is one of the oldest and most underestimated household remedies that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday life - in the morning on an empty stomach, between meals, as an afternoon refreshment. In integrative medicine, we see it as a gentle but effective tool. Provided it is used with awareness, at the right time and in the right quantity.

Heart rate variability measurement (HRV)

The heart rate variability measurement shows us how well our autonomic nervous system is set up. Roughly speaking, our autonomic nervous system consists of two parts - the sympathetic nervous system (tension) and the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation). The autonomic nervous system can be seen as a higher-level control center that uses nerves to control and regulate processes and functions in the body - more precisely: our organs and organ systems - and at best keeps them in a certain balance.
